Downhill only
Lava never climbs. Each tile carries an integer elevation, and the flow steps into the lowest neighbour it can reach. Reading the height map is the entire game.
Fire Contour hands you a sleeping volcano and a budget of magma pressure. Every tile of the island has an elevation. Lava only moves downhill. Plan the whole breach chain like a chess problem, press Erupt, and watch the island decide whether you read it correctly.
No fluid physics, no reflexes, no timers ticking against you. Fire Contour runs on a cellular grid of heights and a handful of ruthless rules. Everything that happens, happens because you told it to — one step at a time.
Lava never climbs. Each tile carries an integer elevation, and the flow steps into the lowest neighbour it can reach. Reading the height map is the entire game.
Solidified lava becomes basalt and raises the tile by one. That is the signature move: freeze a cell on purpose to close a path and shove the next surge somewhere useful.
Every breach costs magma pressure, and the meter never refills mid-level. Efficiency is scored — the same island can always be solved a little more elegantly.
Many islands hide villages and forests you are forbidden to touch. Route the flow around them, or restart. It turns destruction into a precision exercise.
Islands are procedurally raised — heights, cliffs, vents, targets — and every one is solver-checked before it reaches you. No dead layouts, no hand-authored ceiling.
Coins come from stars and clean solutions only. They unlock lava palettes, island regions and the occasional hint — and there is no other way to get them.
Hand-tuned objectives with a hard pressure cap. Three stars for the minimal, most elegant chain of breaches.
One growing landmass, one continuous flow. Push as far across the terrain as your pressure economy allows.
A single island generated for the day. Same heights for everyone — the only variable is how well you read it.
A real slice of the engine, running right here. Tap tiles to plan where the crust gives way — each one must border your chain and sit no higher than the tile before it. Reach the teal sea, spare the villages.
We are a very small studio with an oddly specific obsession: turning geology into a logic puzzle. Fire Contour started as a napkin question — what if the player were the volcano, and the interesting part was the arithmetic of the slope? Everything you see was built around that single idea, drawn procedurally, with no art pipeline and no server behind it.
Our mission is to make thinking feel physical. Too many puzzle games ask for speed; we wanted one that rewards you for sitting still, tracing heights with your eyes, and finding the one route where a stingy budget of pressure carries the flow all the way to the water.
What you get is a pocket-sized geological problem set: procedurally raised islands, verified solvable, with cliffs to route around, villages to protect, and cooled basalt that quietly rewrites the elevation map between your moves. Play a two-minute Daily, or spend an evening shaving one pressure point off a solution you already beat.
And it stays yours. No account, no cloud, no telemetry, no ads — the whole island lives on your device and works on a plane, in a tunnel, anywhere. We would rather earn the next session than harvest the last one.
Read the slope. Spend the pressure. Let the mountain answer.
Short version: there is nothing to leak, because there is nothing collected. The long version is below, and it says exactly the same thing in nine sections.
None. Fire Contour does not collect any information about you, and it is built so that it could not do so even if we changed our minds without changing the app.
Specifically, the app never asks for and never gathers:
Everything the app produces while you play — solved levels, star ratings, pressure records, Daily Volcano results, unlocked lava and island palettes, earned in-game coins, hint counts and your settings — is generated on your device, written to your device, and read back only by the app itself.
Because no information is collected, there is nothing for us to use. We do not profile you, do not build behavioural models, do not train anything on your play, and do not sell, rent, license or share data with anyone — there is simply no dataset in existence to do that with.
All gameplay logic runs locally: island generation, the solvability check, the flow simulation, scoring and progression are computed on your device's processor. Your progress is used for one purpose only — to show you your own progress the next time you open the app.
All app data is stored in Fire Contour's private sandbox on your device, in the storage area the operating system reserves for the app. It is not mirrored to a server, not synced to a cloud account we control, and not transmitted anywhere over the network.
We operate no user database and no backend service for this app. If your device is offline forever, Fire Contour behaves exactly the same as it does online, because it never needed the connection in the first place.
Fire Contour integrates no third-party analytics platforms, no advertising networks, no attribution or install-tracking SDKs, no social login providers, no crash-reporting services and no remote configuration systems.
No external code runs inside the app to observe your behaviour, and no third party receives information about you through Fire Contour. Any transaction handling that may occur for optional content is performed entirely by the platform's own store, under that platform's own privacy terms, and we never receive personal details from it.
The most reliable protection is a small attack surface, and ours is close to nothing: data that never leaves the device cannot be intercepted in transit, breached on a server, or exposed by a vendor we do not control.
Your saved progress is protected by your device's own security model — its sandboxing, file protection and whatever passcode or biometric lock you have enabled. We recommend keeping your operating system up to date, as that is the layer actually guarding the data.
Fire Contour is safe for players of every age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — nor from anyone else — because the app has no mechanism for collecting personal information at all.
There is no chat, no user-generated content, no profile, no social feed and no external link out of the gameplay. This design keeps the app aligned with COPPA and comparable children's privacy regulations by construction rather than by promise.
You hold every copy of your data. There is no account to close, no export request to file and no deletion form to submit, because we never received anything to return or erase.
Deleting Fire Contour from your device permanently removes all of its local data — progress, stars, coins, unlocked palettes and settings. We keep no backup and no shadow copy, so this action is immediate and irreversible, and it is entirely in your hands.
We may revise this policy if the app changes or if legal requirements evolve. When we do, the revised text will replace this one inside the app and on this page, and the Effective Date above will be updated to reflect the new version.
Our commitment to zero data collection is the core of how Fire Contour is built, and any material change to it would be stated plainly and prominently rather than buried in a revision. Reviewing this page occasionally is the simplest way to stay current.
Questions about this policy, or about how Fire Contour handles — or rather, does not handle — data are always welcome. Write to us at privacy@firecontourapp.com and a human will reply.
